In a time when change is the rule rather than the exception, students need to learn how to adapt to the explosion of new information. In effect, teaching them how tolearn is the most critical responsibility we have to students. One of the goals of the SPS Technology Plan (2009-2012) is to "provide professional learning opportunities for teachers to be able to integrate technology in the classroom for productivity, engagement, differentiation and for assessment". In addition, one of the Priority Areas regards Professional Learning: "To increase access and flexibility to professional learning as well as provide differentiation based on assessment of staff and administrator skills." (SPS Tech Plan, pp 12-14)
The 2010-2011 Spensiville High School Technology Staff Development Plan was developed in an effort to support the vision, mission and strategic directions already in place and, to continue progress made in specific goals that will ensure students are competitive and fluent in 21st century skills and knowledge.
